Simulation study of phase change materials operating in thermoelectric devices

In this paper, a computerized analysis is performed to evaluate the effect of phase change materials on performance thermoelectric generators. This study was conducted using commercial OpenFOAM software. Analyze changes in temperature, potential and efficiency due materials. The evaluated variety geometric operational conditions, such as material height heat flux. results obtained indicate that presence allows significant increase temperature difference between surfaces. increased by 35% with 3.25 mm. increases generator maximum output voltage 21%. Overall, have been shown improve 23%. For test 4.77%. From result, it can be concluded promising alternative for improving low generators their storage capacity.
